The Cream reunion finally happened after 35 years. After several viewings of the concert DVD, my conclusion is that it is brilliant. The musicianship is outstanding. Jack Bruce is the original bass virtuoso and he hasn't lost anything. Ginger Baker combines power drumming with exquisite touch and timing. Eric Clapton is superb as usual and just seems to get better with age. The biggest surprise is how good the vocals are. It was a pleasure to hear Bruce's deep commanding voice again. As with his guitar playing, Clapton's vocals seem to get better all the time, too. The harmonies are right on target. For more reviews and the setlist, check it out here:
